An Exploratory Study of the factors affecting Awareness toward Euthanacia of a Community’s Residendts

Abstract
The purpose of this study were to identify level of awareness toward euthanacia : and to identify and test various factors which are closely related to awareness toward euthanacia. This study identified that 18 general characteristics (independent variables) would be related to the awareness toward euthanacia for self, family, others, legistration, total score. Three hundred and eighty community's residents within various ranges of age and education participated in this study. Each awareness toward euthanacia was measured using 12 sementing differential scale. The findings obtained from this study were as follows : 1. Awareness toward euthanacia (self, others, legistation, total score) of a community’s residents in Chinj u city was approaching to positive direction, but awareness toward euthanacia (family) was approaching to neutral direction. 2. Job, level of education, information about euthanacia, legistration, agree about bain death, right about death, acception about death, information about death, thought about death, the place of dying caregiver of death were identified as signifi* cantly related to awareness toward euthanacia a community’s residents in Chinj u city. In conclusion, awareness toward euthanacia of a community’s residents in Chinju city was approaching to positive direction, and There were 10 variables which influences the awareness toward euthanacia at significantly level. The factors were information and legistration about euthanacia, agree about brain death, right and acception about death, thought about death, level of education, job, the place of dying, care giver of death.
