Abstract |
Purpose This study was to identify the relationship between relationship change, self-monitoring and emotional intelligence in the schizophrenia.
Methods The subject were 193 schizophrenia of two site in Korea. Data was collected from February, 2005 to April, 2005 using structured relationship change scale translated by Moon(1980) and modified by Cheon(1994), selfmonitoring scale translated by Cho(1997), emotional intelligent test developed by Moon(1999). Data was analyzed by the SPSS program, using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Coefficient.
Results The mean score of emotional intelligence was 123.34+17.51, self-monitoring was 25.27±9.52, and relationship change was 79.62± 19.47. There was a significant difference in state relationship change according to level of education(F=4.550, p=.OO5). The relationship between relationship change and self-monitoring had a positive correlation (r=.466), the relationship between relationship change and emotional intelligence had a positive correlation (r=,565), and the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-monitoring had a positive correlation(r=.694, p=.001).
Conclusion These results suggested that self-monitoring and emotional intelligence can be potential factors in social relationship. Therefore these findings give useful information for constructing and intervention program focused on social relationship in schizophrenia. |
